Before beginning his consulting career in 1997, Mr. Reeves was Deputy Associate Administrator for Aeronautics and Space Transportation Technology at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. In that position he was responsible for the strategic direction of NASA’s Aeronautics Enterprise with a budget of over $1 billion and responsibility for four national research laboratories. Previous to that assignment he participated in the planning for Mars exploration, and in particular stakeholder outreach and education strategies. Mr. Reeves was the NASA Director for Planning during the years 1988 to 1990.
Mr. Reeves held a number of other senior positions at NASA Headquarters, as well as key positions at several NASA field centers. He was Associate Director of the Ames Research Center where he was responsible for business management of the aeronautical and space research center with an annual budget of $500 million and 5000 employees and contractors. There he also coordinated state and local government programs. Previous to taking that assignment, Mr. Reeves was Director for Management Operations at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center where he was responsible for providing administrative, management and technical support at NASA’s largest R&D center.
Mr. Reeves began his career as an attorney at the Marshall Space Flight Center and served in several NASA positions as legal counsel. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee (Juris Doctor) and holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from the Georgia State University.
Mr. Reeves has twice been awarded Presidential ranks in the U.S. Senior Executive Service and NASA medals for distinguished service, outstanding leadership and exceptional service. He is a senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and a member of the Tennessee Bar Association.
